Richard Schum was unable to provide a Treasurers report because the books had not been transferred from Jim Gatwood to him yet. Several membership dues were paid and Richard gave temporary receipts until he acquires the documents and paperwork.
Old Business
· After a discussion about the new ramp, it was discussed to investigate if another center brace should be added to the ramp. It will be looked into.
· Without our PR rep to discuss other competing events for May, a tentative date of May 15 & 16 was penciled in for now, for our Spring Fun Fly.
· Doug will contact Gary King to schedule a short meeting to discuss other club’s events and to set a firm date for our Fun Fly. Doug will contact Steve Hauser so he can get the word out to all members.
· Dave Langebrake will stop by the field and check to see if the the porta potty was ok or if it had busted from the long freeze spell we had encountered in the past several weeks.
· Richard Schum led a short discussion about rules and regs of becoming a Contest Director. No one stepped up at this time to take the open book test to become one.
· When Doug and Richard took down the windsock for repair it was washed and fell apart. Richard has already purchased a new one and will work with several other club members to redo the mount so it can easily be removed during the winter, which should prolong the life of them.
· It was decided to fertilize, sew seed, and thatch the field in early April. Steve Hauser will ask to borrow a friends thatcher again.
· A brief discussion of the other equipment at the field resulted in a report that no immediate repairs are needed but that we should look into doing maintenance on the golf cart. It has been several years since the oil had been changed and it has been serviced.
· In March/April the officers & field marshal are to evaluate the fencing and posts and organize a work session if maintenance or repairs are needed.
· Visitors to the Vincennes and Mattoon events reported they were good events and encouraged more members to visit other chapters events.
· A group of members stated they were going to go to the second Charlestown event this coming weekend, but that it typically wasn’t as large as the first.
· Scott Blesch will get permission to have a Electric Fly Day at the old hanger at the Huntingburg Airfield on Saturday Feb 20 from 10-4. This hanger is next to the old terminal.
· Scott B. has the hats and T-shirts and will get an inventory and report back next meeting.
· Several members mentioned they couldn’t get on /log into the website. It will be discussed with Jim on th 23rd.
· The next meetings will be: April 13, July 13, Sept 14th, and Nov 9th. Steve Hauser reserved the meeting room at Shoneys for those dates.
· A family day/ meal picnic at the airfield was discussed and everyone present was in favor of having one in 2010. It was suggested not to wait until fall because everyone’s schedules get so busy after school starts, etc.
· A motion was made to close the meeting by Steve Hauser and seconded by Richard Schum, President Doug Lukemeyer closed the meeting at 8:15PM.
Our next meeting will be on April 13, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Secretary – Steve Hauser
