Meeting Minutes, July 14, 7:00PM


President Gary King opened the meeting at 7:02 with 14 members present.

President King read the Treasurer’s Report in Jim Gatwood’s absence. Treasurer’s Report was approved

Secretary Steve Hauser read the minutes. Minutes were approved as read

Old Business:

Doug L. and John B. replaced the sub-floor and floor covering in the clubhouse. They were thanked for doing a good job and in a timely manner.

Steve Hauser will try and get the letter out to all past members that have not re’uped, inviting them to attend during Strassenfest, and offering them an opportunity to re-join the club.

Cub scout day had been cancelled. It was recommended to try and reschedule for late fall and to get other troops involved. Gary King will talk to his contact about other troops and we will discuss at the Sept 15th meeting. At this time we will hold off on assigning responsibilities, but hopefully those volunteering the last time can accept the responsibilities for the fall attempt. They were as follows:
Gary King will get hotdogs, relish, buns, and drinks.
Roger Erny, Jim Gatwood, and Gary King will provide buddy boxes.
Richard Schum will bring a bare bones plane, electronics, and rubber band models.
Scott Blesch will bring tables;
Don Defendoll will be instructor,
Doug Lukemeyer. will bring camera.
John Butler will bring laptop and simulator,
Jim Gatwood will bring projector and screen to be used in the garage,
Scott Blesch will bring Generator, and
Marvin will provide homemade ice cream.

New Business
August 1st 2nd is Strassenfest weekend.
Doug Lukemeyer will see that a second port-a-potty will be delivered and that the one we have now will be serviced.
Doug and Ron will see that the signs get put up on Saturday.
Roger will do mowing in preparation.
Steve/ John/ Doug/Roger are the food committee.
It was approved (Roy 1st and Doug 2nd ) to purchase two banquet tables. Steve Hauser will purchase before the event.
It was approved (Roy 1st and Don 2nd) for Dave Langebrake to purchase a large Easy-up shade tent. He can spend up to $100

Discussion on managing field fee and ID tags. There will be a Pilots meeting at 10:30AM on Saturday, John Butler will manage the process of fees from 8-10AM Saturday. Others will volunteer to handle that at Noon, and again at 3.

Trash Removal Detail will be assigned on Saturday and Sunday.

Discussion and agreement to mark Pit area and Flight Line area prior to event to keep tents, RVs and other vehicles moved back to safe distances. Gary King will check AMA rules and mark accordingly with other members help on Saturday morning.
Gary will be at field Friday night to accept RVs and other visitors.

Doug Lukemeyer had investigated the possibility of buying a storage container to house our mower, golf cart, and other items. He attended a City Meeting and sought and received approval for us to put it on the property. It was discussed and approved to spend $500 for the container, with the understanding that there will be expenses coming to locate, put on blocks, and possibly repaint the container, build ramp etc. A committee of Ron Cox, Dave Langebrake, Doug Lukemeyer and Roger Erny was form to determine location and all other aspects needed.

President King mentioned that the website had been moved to a new provider and was much faster, and the old data is being added back on the website as time permits. All our data was lost from the old site so everything has to be rebuilt or re-inserted into the website. He encouraged everyone to do there part in getting all the data back and into the website.

Next meeting is set for Sept 8 2009 7:00PM EST at the Clubhouse (weather permitting)
